Aghanistan is one of the most stunning countries in the world. If you can avoid the instability of the place long enough, you can find some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see. Check out these awesome photos of Afghanistan.

Great pictures, nice to see a country thats not covered very much due to obvious reasons.
Yes, I agree. These are very good photos.
Are you based in Afghanistan or another country?
Great collection of shots!
very nice photos…
unfortunantly I’ve still not been in Afghanistan – but I hope one day…
if there’s one country in the middle east that tops my list it would have to be afghanista, so fascinated by its beauty and maybe the thrill..
the photo of the girl is just divine. the afghan people are such cover models, remember the nationa geographic photo.
nice post!!! Great!
firstly, afghanistan is not in the middle east. it’s in central asia. common mistake but one that i have to correct being afghan. neither is pakistan for that matter.
nice blog. nice pics. was supposed to go last year to do a story but my family couldn’t guarantee my safety…
Great photos, thank you for sharing and adding me on Twitter, as well.
Keep up the awesome work!!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Looks like you’re off to Kashmir this year? That would be an awesome trip!
Thanks Carlos!
Fab photos! They give a real feel of rural Afghanistan. I was there in 1976 on an overland bus trip to Kathmandu. Got to see Bamiyan before the Buddhas were destroyed. If you want to read my diary and photos of trip go to hppt://janmacleodtrotter.blogspot.com
Thanks for the photos.
I don’t care what anyone thinks about our involvement with Afghanistan, what they’ve done to us, or what we’ve done to him. This DEFINITELY shows that Afghanistan is a country full of people just like us. They live on the same planet as us, breathe the same air as us, and bleed the same color as us. I think these photos are absolutely stunning and add another dimension to the people and culture there. They’re not just “the bad guys” but they are human. Thanks for sharing these amazing photos!
Ace 250 no one thinks the afgani’s are the bad guys its the terrorists who are the bad guys. Canada and the US are in Afghanistan to help the people, we are not at war with Afghanistan we are at war with the Taliban.
Beautiful country though
Great work! I esp. like the second photo with the balloons showing a contrast between the colorful balloons and the earth tones that seem to typify this country.
really awesome photography
stunning… beautiful. Thanks so much… I especially like the 10th one. Man looking down to canyon with river below…
Thank you for the enlightening photo’s. Why are some of the most beautiful places on earth quite often the most unstable too?
It is beautiful country. It’s a pity Afghanistan has been the scene of so much bloodshed. It has the misfortune of being in the wrong spot. It was for a centuries part of the Silk Road to the Far East, that everyone wanted to control.
I recently read in newspapers from the 19th century about the War in Afghanistan then. Britain wanted it as a buffer between it’s Indian colony and it’s enemy Russia.
In the 20th century Russia wanted it because it was on it’s border. In the 21st America wanted it because it’s wild inaccessible back-country was the perfect hideout for foreign terrorists.
And innocent Afghan people are always caught in the crossfires of these constant power-plays. Yet they endure. They are like the vibrant flowers that bloom in the desert, despite the harsh conditions that would wilt most.
Stunning.
I’ve read two fiction books by Khaled Hosseini and it gave my imagination a picture of Afghanistan. But these pictures are way better than my imagination. They’re so great!
